24 hour regional Hindi satellite news channel India News is to launch in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh


Run by Information TV Pvt Ltd (ITV), and owned by the Piccadilly Group, the channel first launched in Haryana in 2009. Since then the channel has expanded to Bihar and Jhakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
"We are financing the channels through internal accruals. With this launch, we will be completing our circle of presence in Hindi-speaking markets," Rakesh Sharma, chief executive, India News is quoted as saying in Best Media Info.
"We are also planning to split the Jharkhand channel from the Bihar channel and Uttarakhand from the Uttar Pradesh channel," he added, confirming the changes will all come into effect in April 2012.
