Qualy TV, Albavisión's pay-TV platform expanding throughout Central America, is to launch in Nicaragua. The service is supported by Media Networks' direct-to-home (DTH) satellite platform.
Albavisión's proposal for Nicaragua will include four local signals and a family package with 59 channels. The service will eventually add a premium movie channel.
“We are pleased to keep powering Qualy TV's operation in Central America, a new business venture in the region which consolidates Media Networks' leadership as DTH wholesaler in Latin America,” said Leandro Gaunszer, commercial director at Telefónica's B2B unit.
Qualy TV was launched in Guatemala at the end of last year, also using Media Networks' satellite infrastructure. Albavisión's pay-TV platform will launch soon in Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.
