As per the regulations of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), all DTH service providers in India are required to carry a minimum of 25 free-to-air (FTA) channels in their channel lineup.
These FTA channels should be offered to customers without any additional subscription fees and should include channels from different genres and languages to cater to a wide range of viewers.
In addition to this, the MIB also mandates that DTH/Cable TV/IPTV and other Pay TV service providers must carry all the channels that are provided by the public broadcaster, Prasar Bharati, on a free-to-air basis. This includes channels like DD National, DD News, DD Sports, and other regional DD channels.
