Asia Satellite Telecommunications (AsiaSat) and PT Digital Media Asia have launched a new direct-to-home (DTH) satellite service.
Utilizing multiple Ku-band transponders on AsiaSat 5 at 100.5 degrees East, the VIVA+ bouquet includes a wide range of Indonesian and international television channels, from entertainment, news, sports, to children and religious programmes.
It is designed to serve the fast-growing Indonesian pay DTH market and will initially consist of two high definition (HD) and 35 standard definition (SD) channels. These will include nine channels dedicated to the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
